Kidnapped!

Super excited to finally reveal photos from store 2428's Winter Lookbook!
Logan Hudak invited me to join him and his team for the day and create this cool storyboard idea that Logan and some others had come up with for their store 2428, located on Sackville Street, Halifax.
I had such a blast and I really feel these pictures show how much fun and effort was put forth by everyone!
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do! Thanks again Logan for inviting me out and thanks everyone for the amazing experience!

Darling Pin Up

Helena Darling joined in on a mini photo shoot special that the amazingly talented photographer Melanie Titus was offering earlier this month and I was so happy to be apart of the team.
Classic pin up makeup always is so much fun to do & Helena can definitely pull it off. Helena and I are both on the same page when it comes to blush, we believe there can never be too much of it!
Not only is she beautiful, she is my best friend and I am the happiest person in the world to know someone with such talent and to share the same dream for success. We will do big things together and i wont forget to share it.
Its always a pleasure to work with these 2 amazing ladies. Melanie Titus is such a great professional photographer and I am never disappointed with her work, she's truly incredible at capturing the pinup life style. I will always look forward to working with her :)

What a natural!

I had the pleasure of doing makeup for Brian Larter the other day, Brian told me he had a fresh new face on the modeling scene and would love for me to drop by and work my magic.
Sarah Ashira. Let me tell you, she was a natural! She had such an amazing bone structure and stunning features. She worked the set and i hope to work with her again sometime. Sarah claims that she lives by America's next top model, and well it really paid off! She had quiet the amazing wardrobe to look threw (jealous yes) and after helping her pick out her outfit she let me have free range with the makeup. I love those words. free range. I worked with a strong bold plum lip and rocked the gold pigment on the eyes for a nice sparkle. I knew the style of lighting Brian was going to use and i knew it was going to throw some shadows and blast light on prominent features, so i used deep shades to show off her strong bone structure.
I'm super happy with the outcome and thanks again Brian for the opportunity, can't wait to work with you again!

Beginning a New Chapter,

Saturday was sadly my last day at the Hair Design Centre. I have now successfully completed the study in Make Up Artistry, and have this kick a$$ diploma to show for it!
Right now I have to show you this creation i made in class, the lovely Rebecca Graham let me try out this look on her, the reason why i asked Rebecca was because i could already picture the cartoon version of her...

odd yes, but she is such a cute, karasmatic, hello kitty lovin lady, it just fit.
& yes i am super happy with the outcome :)

sorry for the camera fuzz once again.

I used alot of sparkle, you cant really see if from the picture but because Rebecca is so awesome she wore it walking all over downtown halifax with me and we both got a kick out of everyones reactions.

Karen King Holmans @ Wolrd Tea House commented on my photo saying "Ah! it was you waving at me as you went by the tea house! It threw me off, its crazy awesome!"

BUT Best reaction was a group of little boys running done Sackville St. making all kinds of noise, one out of the 7 or 8 boys freezes in place, stares right into Rebecca's eyes for a good minute, doesn't say a word, then is pushed away by his dad and he runs away down the street.
I wonder what he was thinking...?

I love to get a reaction from my work, and it made me happy to see soo many shocked and confused faces, thanks again Rebecca for being such a good sport, i know she enjoyed it just as much as i did :)

I am going to miss all my friends that i have made from school, you have all so talented and have tought me so much! I know we will all keep in touch :) I am going to miss my teacher Donna Bramley the most. She is THE inspiration to my aspirations. She has tought me many lessons and I will never forget them. I am stronger, more confident, in myself and my work, I owe alot of this to my teacher Donna.

Best part about the day was after a long, anticipated wait the class received our photos from the class photoshoot with Sue Siri. Sue was professional, helpful and a treat to work with, she enjoyed the picture so much she has put Lisa up on her blog and Facebook page. Lisa O'Quinn was my lovely model,  allowing me to transform her from a 50's Pin up to...well...my take on a Glam Rockstar. I chose to only use one model because i wanted to drastically change her appearance, tricking your eye into thinking its 2 different ladies. I'm super happy with the outcome and i hope you enjoy,

The Pin Up Life Style

I am truley inspired by the 1950's Pinup era and am ALWAYS excited to bust out a strong red lip and winged cat eyeliner.
I am constantly surrounded by friends who feel the same way, so i've been lucky to have created the pin up look on numerous occations.
Monthly i get the opportunity to be MUA for the beautifully talented, burlesque performer Miss. Magenta & Host, the lovely Helena Darling at Reflections Cabaret's Rockabilly Riot.
